Happy New Year you absolute darlings!
I hope you all had many snapshots of joy and wonder throughout the festive period. I wanted to take a short moment to say thank you SO MUCH to all you beauties who have paid a visit to our little corner over here. I have been so overwhelmed by the love and support of all the friends, family and wonderful folk we have yet to meet out there who have come in their thousands (oh my!) to read our little ramblings, a great BIG hug and kiss to you all!
We are in that lovely moment of January where we welcome the new year with a deep breath and a positive exhale. There is nothing quite like a fresh start is there? A lovely blank page waiting to be filled, you pick up your pen and pause, and dream of all the wondrous things you shall fill it with. January 1st is always that pause for me, what do I hope for this year?
This January we are setting out on a journey of simplicity, we resolve to take joy in simple pleasures and respect simple practises. We will do our very best to spend wisely, turn the tv off once in a while and remember that a daily dose of chocolate doesn’t class as ‘moderation’. I will pick up around the house once a day and even crack out the hoover once in a while, as my mother always said ‘the state of your room is a reflection on the state of your mind’ let’s just say I now own a whole house and it needs to sort it’s life out! This all sounds rather mundane but what I love about it is, I stand a chance at achieving this. Not setting myself up for immediate failure fills me with hope that these simple practises will nurture my family with health and happiness in 2016.
Florence’s little personality is springing forth each and everyday and I fear to blink and miss so much. This year I want to take time out of the hustle and bustle of life and spend slow, luxurious time with her, indulging in simple pleasures. Baking bread from scratch, walking at toddler pace through the woods and stopping to gaze in wonder at each and every tree, getting covered in mud, paint and spaghetti bolognese. To make simple memories we will cherish forever.
Happy New Year dear ones, may your January be joyful.
