Happy Weekend All.
Tomorrow is Sunday, arguably the best day of the week in my opinion. A day set aside for Church, stomping across countryside and hearty roast dinners followed by full belly sofa snoozes is a winner in my book.
I am particularly pining for Sunday this evening. My dear husband has two weeks off work (hurrah!) and we are currently at the mid point. Going from manning all stations single handed with a toddling 10 month old to having a full time adult companion has been incredible. I may, however, have gone a little too hard into full on ‘Fi Project Mode’. The understairs cupboard is about the only useful storage space in our house and after declaring that it ‘simply wasn’t working for me’ I set about crafting it into a Pinterest worthy pantry. It is fabulous, by the way, but I may have totally devastated the entire house in the process…aside from Florrie’s room that is ironically immaculate given the state of the rest of the house and her arrival being the general cause.
We are just about straight but there are still so many jobs to be done, I have endless lists in my head that I yearn to tick off. They aren’t urgent, just things I really want to get done. BUT I AM EXHAUSTED. The organised side of me is going turbo bitch at the side that really just wants a nap, it would be so nice to get all this sorted but I will be of no use to anyone, especially my daughter, if I burn out by the time Trevor returns to work (to the Christmas slog of retail, poor lamb). So we have made a compromise, starting from next week we will be embracing lazy. We will love it, accept it and not be ashamed of our friend lazy. Not always, but every now and then we could all do with inviting lazy in and this is one of those times for us.
Tomorrow is Sunday so may I suggest that you pull out your best blanket – or better yet stay in bed, gather the family, a film and a hot cup of tea and embrace lazy too.
