I’m envious of those super mums who produce the most incredible crafts with their offspring. They never chip a nail let alone get glue on the curtains or break a sweat. I was determined to get Florence into a little festive crafting so set about it the best way I know how, with a good dose of realism.
The crafting ability of an under 2 is splodging paint or crayon on paper and hoping not too much goes in their mouth. Any more structure than this results in a rather wonderful piece made by mummy stuck up on the fridge. So I joined forces with a friend and her son and together we braved the poster paint and played zone defence with set up, clear down and distracting the babies.
The resulting art work was then cut into strips and made into paper chains, admittedly by mummy but the design is an original Florence and that’ll do nicely for now. I can’t wait for future years of fairy bottle angels but it’s lovely to encourage creativity at every stage, sometimes you just need a friend to dive in with you!
